Hello! I have a 9 month old puppy. I work from home 4 days a week the other day he goes to daycare. He is crated at night and is fine with it (touch wood).
I used to not crate him in the day unless I was going out but he has recently started becoming very attention seeking and barking a lot. Even if his needs have been met so I have started crating him a couple hours in the morning and a couple in the afternoon. I try not to and give a chance to be calm, capture calmness etc. but am doing this as I need to get work done at some point.
My question is this normal? Is this detrimental, will he start to dislike the crate? And when will he settle more readily again outside the crate? (I don’t have this issue in the evening)
Thank you for your help, I would appreciate any advice. Also if you have or had a teenage dog recently when did you notice more chill behaviour consistently?
