Crated puppy separation anxiety

Hey all thanks in advanced for the help and I’m glad to have already picked through this group for some great info here.

My question involves a puppy we just got a week ago. She’s an 8week old Aussiedoodle. I know they’re high energy and I know she’s a puppy and I know she needs to get used to our life and how we function and fit into our schedules.

My issue involves crate training and what I can do to ease what I believe is just puppy separation anxiety. No she’s not ripping apart at the cage and freaking out, but after a few hours she decides she needs to bark and yelp in hopes of getting somebody’s attention. (Yes I know a few hours is long for this age but she’s honestly already such a good girl)

I work nights 3 days a week as a nurse and my wife works during the day as a school nurse. Currently about to finish my first shift since we got the puppy and I plan to run her tired after I get home before I try to sleep. My wife can come home on her break to let the dog out and run her tired before going back on the days I sleep, and then after work she’ll be home. It will eventually work out well, but I need some ways to help reduce the puppy anxiety. I got some puzzle toys coming from Amazon, and she sleeps with our t-shirts in her bed in the crate for the scent. Currently she has a Kong toy with treats and some bone toys. She does have a pee pad she uses at least twice without issue

We’re in NJ and once winter is over and I can walk/ hike her 3 times a day we shouldn’t have any issues.

Tl;dr- I’m looking for ways to help my puppy get used to the crate better and help her cope better for longer time frames.
