Christmas holidays with a cat

Hello all. I am looking for an advice what to do during Christmas period. Due to some family/work constraints, my GF can’t stay with me permanently and she spends most of the time in her home country (1000+ km). We spend Christmas and New Year’s eve together every year, usually at her place as she has a cat and the above mentioned constraints. However, we (I) adopted a dog earlier this year. Except once very briefly, the cat and the dog never met. I am not sure what to do during the holidays, as we don’t want to leave either of the animals alone. Especially during the fireworks. But I am not sure, how easy/stressful is it to introduce dog to a cat. We can’t do it over longer period, as I will come to her shortly before Christmas, when my vacation starts. Any advice to make it smooth, quick and stress free for the animals? There might be 3 days when I stay with my family before I go to my GF. I could visit every day for a meet and greet if that helps.
