I recently canceled an order with Chewy after my dog of 12 years passed away. I didn’t think much of it at the time and just figured the refund would go through and that would be the end of it. A few days later, I came home to find a vase of flowers and a handwritten sympathy card from them.
Losing her has been rough. The house feels empty, and every little habit or routine reminds me that she isn’t here anymore. Getting something so thoughtful from a company I’ve only ever bought food and supplies from honestly stopped me in my tracks. It felt like someone out there understood that she wasn’t “just a pet” to me.
I really want to give Chewy a shoutout for that. Their kindness made a hard week a little less lonely, and I’m truly grateful for it.
