I am on my last nerve …. my wife and I rescued a King Charles Cavalier / Shih tzu in early December … very shy and timid … getting better everyday. What is not getting better is that she must have had something happen to her because she hates women. Highly strange. When my wife gets within 6 to 8 feet of her the growling, barking, and the nails on her feet on the floor.
We are in behavior therapy for this and it is going OK but what I was looking for is a way that my wife could have Millie in her lap and pet her to establish affection through holding and petting. Maybe Millie will realize Dawn is not a threat and submit. I was thinking a muzzle to take biting out of the equation.
Any thoughts on possible methods to get this to stop? Please help … desperate for help.
