Bragging on my girl for a second!

I’ve had my girl (a mix of 23 breeds) since she was 9 weeks old, and she’s 6.5 months now. She’s great – potty trained, crate trained, smart, not reactive, sweet, sassy, all the things. She has started doing something that I’m really proud of: when we’re at the dog park or if she sees another dog in public, she has started laying on her belly with her head down. She lets the other dog approach at their own pace and she never jumps up unless the other dog initiates play. She lays calmly while they approach and decides between play or a quick sniff based on how they act. If they don’t seem interested in playing or sniffing, she’ll stand up and carry on. I didn’t teach her this, so I’m impressed that she has that instinct in her. It’s like she’s saying “I’m safe and friendly, and I wanna play if you do!” 😂
