Hi all,
We currently have a border collie pup, he's young. He's being potty trained atm. Works well but there's still some accidents. That's okay.
How do you handle the nights ? I've read everything and it's opposite. I'm wondering what's the best course of action. Atm, we're taking turns sleeping on the couch next to him and waking up every 2h30 to let him outside. Works well for now. Can we go to our respective rooms or is that too soon ?
Also, he starts barking and biting (hard) on trousers (and legs) to the point I don't feel safe, because it's painful sometimes. I've tried telling him no and pushing him off me gently, I've tried ignoring the behaviour (but it's difficult due to the sudden bites), and redirecting to things he can bite instead. Nothing works. I'm a bit lost.
I've played with him for 15 min before such behaviour occurs. Going outside too. But I don't know, it doesn't feel like exhausting him I'd doing anything?
We plan on following educational courses for him soon too, once he's fully vaccinated.
We have no crate and do not plan on getting one as we don't really have a safe space where to put one.
