I’ve got a 140 lb Newfoundland/Pyrenees mix who can’t comfortably jump into my Subaru Crosstrek right now. He has an acl tear that’s why were trying to get him to the vet. Lifting him isn’t realistic, and he’s not into the sling I tried. I bought a ramp, but it feels pretty steep with my car height and he doesn’t trust it, and to be honest, I wouldn’t either. I’ve also thought about using a step or something like an ottoman as a middle point, but I’m not sure if that’s any better.
Looking for practical ideas people have used for getting big dogs into SUVs when jumping isn’t an option. Especially interested in setups, equipment, or ways to train them to use ramps/steps safely.
