My husband and I are getting a lab puppy in the couple weeks. I will admit that I really jumped the gun with this puppy before really doing research on the breeder. This is their first litter, they took over their parents breeding business. They want us to bring the puppy home at 8 weeks on the dot. After lots of research I’ve found that the 11 to 12 weeks is the ideal time to bring a puppy home. I asked them if they would be willing to keep the puppy any longer and they stated that since the rest of the litter will be leaving that day there wouldn’t be any point in our puppy staying longer. So I am looking for any advice on how to make those first weeks easier and help our puppy adjust. I have basically set no expectations because I know that it’s unrealistic as he is literally a baby.
