Anxious leaving him alone for the first time

Hi there,

For a bit of context; four days ago we adopted a 6 months old Belgian malinois. He's very sweet, already comfortable with us and the house, a bit anxious on walks but shows no aggressive behaviour whatsoever, only barks at the gate when people go by. He already follows me around everywhere and wines when left alone. We only left him alone in the garden so far, we decided that's where he'll stay when we're away. The garden is all fenced up and he's got a place to shelter. I took a day of on Friday, we got the whole weekend, and I boyfriend is working from home today to oversee the transition. But as from tomorrow, we both have to get back to our working routine meaning he'll have to stay alone all day. And I have to admit, it makes me really anxious. I'm worried he'll have a lot of anxiety too, bark too much, or even find a way to escape.

I know it's a short transition, but no choice on our side and eventually he's gonna have to be alright alone all day.

It's not my first day, and I'm not worried about the rest. Just this initial adjustment phase.

Any tips?

Thanks!
