Read up on good breeding practices which said good breeders usually have contracts, but some of the ones I’ve found feel kind of extreme. Can someone give a couple of these a quick look and let me know if it's normal?
Example 1 : http://www.jaunenoir.com/warranty.html
– only three days to get puppy examined by vet for illness
– 2 year warranty on hip dysplasia only applies if it's so severe the dog can't function as a pet
– if the dog accidentally jumps off the couch one time you're already in breach of the contract
– check dog's weight checked by vet multiple times and mail breeder the reports
Example 2: https://masonridge.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Lab-puppy-contract-2017-newest.pdf
– also only 3 days to get examined by vet
– 2 year warranty on dysplasia also only applies if it's crippling
– have to feed a specific brand of food for a year and keep the bags and receipts as proof
Im new to this so it's possible this is normal but the tone seems a bit much. Thanks
