Advice needed for 2yo Golden

Hi all, we have a Golden Retriever who has just turned 2, and I would love some training advice. We tend to walk him in the woods which has very thin paths, and he tends to lose it a bit when we encounter other dogs. He starts off calmly sniffing them, but this quickly turns into him leaping around and then really trying to jump up at the owner with kangaroo jumps! He's really strong and we're looking to get this behavior sorted. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks all
