9 month old puppy may need a crate.

I posted before regarding my 9 month old puppy I adopted. it seems my pup has become a shadow following me everywhere I go. I was thinking maybe a crate would be a good idea because she is not sleeping enough during the day. I feel bad doing this she is so darn cute. I never crated.any of my dogs before so I am still hesitant. I want to keep her gated but the crying is just too much. I appreciate your comments thanks.
