My dog is almost 8 years old. She is a chow chow. She's very loving and is always giving affection. She's helped me at my lowest and I love her very much.
She's a dog I rescued from an abusive household. She is a very sickly dog. She's had multiple instances of dislocated joints because her joints are shallow. Whenever she tries to run and jump, there's at least a chance of her dislocating her joint.
She can't have puppies because of some condition with her heart.
She's had a couple of ehrlichia infections over the years.
She recently had GDV which thank God she survived, but lost her spleen and half her stomach.
She also has hypothyroidism which wasnt caught early so she is now taking maintenance for that.
She also has a skin condition where it itches 24/7. I've been to a couple of vets, but they couldnt determine what it is and is just prescribing Apoquel, which the Vet stopped because prolonged usage might damage her liver.
She was a very happy dog. But right now, she just exists. I think she likes it when I'm around. When I go out she doesn't cry anymore. She's not excited for walks, she only eats the bare minimum. She doesnt like toys anymore.
I don't know what to do. I live in a third world country and the vet fees and meds are piling up. I dont have unlimited funds.
My dog is just scratching herself everytime I see her, and wounds being inflicted. We really feel sorry for her.
I just want her to live comfortably. I owe her that.
I just want to ask this sub, any tips on what we can do to ease her itch? Home remedies, so it would't be expensive.
I've tried epsom salts, probiotic snacks, antifungal medications, she's bathing twice a week using medicated soaps. I've already tried a lot.

So up to maybe like 2 or 3 weeks ago we thought we had the absolute perfect puppy, but then out of no where, she just has been a whirl wind. Out patience is really getting tested lol. But she won’t listen to commands anymore, she refuses to eat unless it’s something different, although this behavior we think is more about us spoiling her so much, she gets so crazy like jumping on people, something she had stop doing, biting again, she likes to take everything so we can chase her, she had stopped doing that too, she had left stuff she knew wasn’t her and would only do it with her toys when she wanted to play now it’s everything, it feels like when she was a puppy and I cried so much during that phase because I felt like such a failure, and I’m feeling the same way again. I feel like I let her down and I did something wrong although we really haven’t changed any of her routine, other than the weekends we go out a little more because I’m off but we do that pretty much every weekend. So am I not doing enough or is she finally hitting the teenage phase. For reference she is a year old and almost 2 months, and she is a golden retriever husky. Also my husbands takes her out for a walk about an hour every day let’s her sniff so much and I try to train her but lately I just can’t seem to get her to focus. We also have gone back to pulling on the leash something that she was doing so much better with. Please help me understand or know that this is totally normal and just a phase we gotta put up with.

This last week, my boy has decided that hes big enough now to bury his own waist with his nose. he shovels pellets on top of it just like the cat has shown him.
I'm disabled, and we have a lab puppy (service dog prospect, he will be doing retrieval and other tasks. I already have a trained service dog, but she's too small to do any retrieval). He has started doing this particularly funny thing. Our cat has gone to his litter box and covered his waste since he came home at 8 weeks. We have a litter box for the Lab, a tray of wood pellet bedding for horses that works great, so we don't need to worry too badly if I'm stuck in bed or miss a sign he needs to go out. My husband still gives him two walks a day, and he goes consistently in the tray or on the pad unless something upsets his tummy.
I'm flabbergasted at this new behavior as he does it right after he goes, but he uses his nose as a shovel for the pellets to cover his waste. Is this common for dogs who use a litter tray? Is my boy just an oddball? Ok, is he more of an oddball than normal?
Listen, I love Gary, hes a very good dog, not worried about his health or well-being, just very confused about where he got this idea. The Cat? His Soul? The single brain cell? Hes only 5 months old. Hes still got baby brain.
