  • Stuck in a situation

Hey guys, I’m 21M and I’ve got a Beagle (he’s 4.5 yrs old now). Before him, we had 4 other dogs.

The first one died when I was just 1. The second was Lexy, a street dog. She passed away from paralysis. The third is Jerry (named him after Tom & Jerry lol). He’s still alive, stays at our farmhouse, super active, and manages the livestock there. I actually rescued him from the street. The fourth was Lucy, a mixed labrador. She died in a car accident when I was on my way to school.

Now about Jimmy (the Beagle). I bought him when he was 3 months old for around $204 from a local dog farm in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was super skinny when I got him, looked like he was kept in really poor condition. I decided to take full care of him — gave him good food, walks, everything.

Then came the pee and poop training part. Puppies below 8 months pee a lot, so I started noticing his pattern. When he was around 5 months old, I used to take him out every 15 mins. Slowly I made it 30, then 45, then an hour, and so on. Now he can hold it for around 3 hours, which is pretty decent.

After every meal, I take him out for a walk too. The problem is, his schedule has become too fixed now. He starts whining around 6:25–6:30 every morning to go out.

At first, I didn’t mind it. But now it’s honestly starting to irritate me. No one else in my family takes care of him. When he starts whining, it literally gets on my nerves — that sound feels like torture sometimes.

I work from home, and when he starts whining during my work hours, I get so annoyed that I sometimes yell at him out of frustration. And the worst part? Everyone in my family just says, “Go take him out,” like it’s only my job. They wanted a dog, but I’m the only one actually doing everything.

Now I’m just stuck. I love him, but this routine is draining me. Thinking to change his schedule a bit, cuz this can’t go on like this.

I want a Solution can someone give me a advice ?

  • Cheap Uk tough toys for an aggressive chewer

Ropes are a no, she finds a way.

Teddies no, even the KONG ones she managed to get threads out

Anything with fake fur, nope she pulls it out

Because tough toys are so expensive on Amazon, I decided to try and get a few on AliExpress but the majority are now in the bin and destroyed :/

Where can I get good aggressive chewer toys from online or in UK shop for a dog who likes to try and find out how to destroy toys or just tug of war with them

  • Potty training help!

Hi guys have a question regarding potty training. Currently my 14 week old dachshund has a patch of grass inside of a large pen and her crate is inside the pen. I know that were not supposed to encourage free room at a young age, but Every once in a while, I’ll take her out of the pen to play fetch with her in the apartment and make sure she can run around (she’s not fully vaccinated yet so can’t go outside, I live in NYC in not the cleanest area so it’s hard to get her out).

if she’s in the pen, she’s awesome at peeing specifically on the patch of grass that we got for her. She also always poops in the exact same spot every day on the floor right next to the grass so I’m getting a larger patch of grass so she has places to pee and poop. But if she’s outside the pen, she will never go into pee and will always just pee right on the carpet . Is there a specific way to fix this? Should I be removing the pen? So she can always have easy access to the grass? I always leave the door to the pen open so she could go in there if she wanted to, but I just don’t know what to do and what would be a better way to potty train her.

  • So nervous to leave my puppy for the first time

First time dog mom, leaving my girl for the weekend </3

So like the title says, I’m a first time dog mom. I am leaving my girl with a friend for the weekend. I have never left her for more than like 8 hours with someone else. My mom watched her for the first time last weekend. She did good, but she’s never spent the night without me. The friend is staying at my place, just so my girl isn’t confused.

I know it has to happen, because I have a busy work life and will need people to take care of her for trips out of the country.

I’m leaving tomorrow through Sunday afternoon, and I’m SO WORRIED about leaving her. For context, I’ve had her since she was 6 weeks (check out my old post on this…it was a TOTAL accident).

She’s my baby and I love her so much. I just can’t stand the thought of something happening to her, her running out the door, her being confused and scared, etc.

I totally trust the person watching her, she’s just a 5 month old baby who I love so much.

I know it will be ok. Now I know how first time parents feel.

  • Dog owners, need advice on my pup’s sudden anxiety

My dog has been acting really anxious lately, pacing, whining, and sometimes hiding under furniture. Nothing in our routine has changed, and he’s usually super chill.

Has anyone dealt with sudden anxiety in dogs? What helped your pup calm down, training, toys, supplements, or something else?

  • Advice Needed

So… I’ve previously posted in a different sub with a similar issue before this. My dog had an accident and broke his back right leg. He was required to wear a splint throughout the weekend. He went back to the vet first thing Monday morning to have surgery and came home Tuesday afternoon. They’ve given him rounds of pain management and other things, but everything looks good.

This is not the issue, though. Now that he’s home and we’re 3 days post op, he hasn’t pooped. He can walk (or hop…) around well. He’s urinated only once a day. I’m coming to the conclusion of he’s constipated and/or can’t get comfortable to squat. I’m going to start giving things like pumpkin puree starting today to help with possible constipation.

If anyone else has been in my situation, how did you help your dog get comfortable enough to go? I’m unsure if he went while he was gone for surgery and I did inform the staff that he hadn’t been throughout the whole weekend, but no one gave me updates. I plan on calling my vets office when they open, but until then I’m just seeking general advice.
