I just rescued a Pomeranian Husky. He's 30 lbs and very active. I don't have a backyard for him to run around in, but we walk for 2-3 hours every day. He's a little underweight and doesn't have an overly thick coat. A winter jacket might be a good idea… but I'm struggling. I hate when they look like a human's jacket. I just think it looks ridiculous. I saw the brand Hundlands, and I really like the look of these, but there's not a slit for a harness to be worn underneath. What I'm wondering is, is it better to wear a harness above or below a jacket? And if it is better to wear one below a jacket, any recommendations for dog jackets that look similar to the photos but do have a slit for a harness & leash? submitted by /u/Away_Nebula |

Help!
The last 2 weeks almost every night my 5 year old golden has been waking up in the middle of the night. He wakes me up and he’s panting most of the time. Eventually he gets settled and normally it’s him laying on top of me or pressed against me.
When we have thunderstorms or fireworks he tends to do this type of behavior but neither have been happening. I can’t figure out what the issue is.
I took him to the vet and they checked him out but nothing stood out to them other than he’s having night anxiety.
Anyone know what could be happening or what I could do to help him out?

My border collie
Hello I have a border collie named stormy and she’s getting very chunky and we don’t have much time to take care for her right ( we shower her one every two weeks feed her 3 times a day with half scoop of food and we play volleyball and soccer with her almost every day) and I was wondering what I could do with her because she also likes to bite.

Brushing dogs teeth
Hi guys I just came to the realisation that I’ve never brushed my dogs teeth before so I googled and google said I should be doing it DAILY?? Am I supposed to be brushing their teeth? Does everyone else brush their dogs teeth and I’ve been left out of that piece of information?? Someone please help me LOL!! Also my dogs would probably bite my hand off if I brushed their teeth 😂 (I give them dental chews and stuff so is that like a substitute orrr…?)

Old owner not giving me vet records/microchip information
I got my dog Maximus from ksl (like facebook marketplace but in idaho, utah, nevada, and Wyoming) on the 1st of this month. I tried texting the guy i got him from on the 6th. He said he'd contact his ex to get all the paperwork. He says he got max from the local humane society. I dont know how long he had him or even an accurate age guess. Post said a year guy said 1-2 years. He gave me literally everything for the dog. Crate, bed, food, gravity water. And he seemed to really care for him. I need to be able to get his microchip switched over and proof of vaccinations/neuter so i can add him to my apartment lease and get him licensed. Issue is its been over 2 weeks since i asked. I texted again on the 7th offering to text her for him and got no reply. Texted again this Tuesday checking in incase he forgot. He did mention he was working quite a bit. I just need advice on what to do. I read that you need to have the microchip manufacturer and call them to switch the information over. Should i just take him to my vet and see what they can do? maybe go to the humane society and see if they still have his information? I'm really at a loss here. Im trying not to bug the guy too much but this is getting ridiculous!

How to stop my dog getting on top of tables
So my year and a half old dog has recently started to jump on our bed side tables and our table in our cat/spare room basically everywhere she can get on top of things she is and it’s driving me crazy. She didn’t start doing it until about a 2 weeks ago. She had gotten on our gaming car and then onto our entertainment center and I told her “off” and she got down but now it’s every time I leave the room she’s on our bedside tables or in the spare room on top of the cat table or my plant shelves. I’m afraid of putting something that will deter her on the table bc that’s our cats safe place and he hangs out there. I would hate to scare him from getting on the table or shelves he has. Our dog gets along with our cat really good and she doesn’t bother the table when he’s in there but she will get on other surfaces.

How to train dog to stay inside even when toddler opens front door
Basically the title. My 2 year old is in and out of the house constantly, and we've had a problem with her letting our 18 month old golden retriever, Ginny, out accidentally. Ginny has great recall, and it's super easy to get her back inside when I notice she's been let out, and she does stay in the yard for the most part, but there are kids out playing in our neighborhood pretty much all day, and some of them are nervous around dogs after being bitten in the past. I don't want to stress them or their parents out, and Ginny has, on occasion, followed my kids down the street when I haven't realized she was let out. What can I do to teach her to stay in the house if I am not there with her?

Can’t resolve leash pulling
I have tried all the methods that are normally suggested for this topic but they don't seem to have an affect on my dog so I was wondering if there are any other methods that worked for you.
I tried for months stopping when he pulls on the leash and walking once the leash is loose but all that ends up happening is he "explodes" forward and instantly pulls the leash again so we make it only one step with a loose leash. He also doesn't seem interested in treats while on walks(when not on walks he likes them), he just turns his head when I try rewarding him for not pulling.I have provided a video to explain what I mean. And this is just in my yard mind you not even on a "real" walk.

Dog travelling abroad
I’ll be sending my dog from the UK to Aus next year and it’s really stressing me out.
He’s a rescue so it’s taken a lot to get him to a calm-ish happy place but we can’t leave him here.
I was just wondering if anyone has done this and did any pre training? Anything that helped them to relax and be calm around new people?
Or any tips? I don’t know, any advice would be good I suppose.
Thank you
