Hi all! I have a 6mo male yellow lab. Very sweet and super smart. He is veryyyyy vocal. Barks when he’s bored, barks when he wants something from you, barks when he’s excited. Anything, he’ll bark at. We’re currently working on impulse control, which is non existent for him unless I have treats. He knows the “wait”command. Any training tips to help him tone down the vocal -ness? I don’t want to make him stop barking for certain things (I have to go potty, there’s someone here, etc.), but any training tips on to stop barking when he’s bored or when he wants something? I’m currently trying the “wait until he stops barking, then give him what he wants” which sometimes works. But again…impulse control. Is this something he’ll grow out of?

I just adopted this dog from Facebook marketplace. He is a 2 yr old male German Shepherd mix. The previous owners had him for 6 months, and when I got him they told me they never bathed him, or groomed him at all, besides occasionally brushing him. I got him groomed yesterday. When I picked him up he smelled better, but today he is back to smelling like wet dog! I love him so much but he is making my home smell. Each room he enters just gets sticky, and it’s making me so self conscious when I’m at work.

I have no idea what to do, I’ve thought about calling the groomers who bathed him to see if they didn’t clean him properly or if I should get a refund of some sort due to the fact that the smell came right back in less that 24 hours…

Any advice?

My dog is on strict no exercise order due to a condition she’s being treated for. The vet says strict, short, leashed bathroom breaks. She only wants to pee and poop on long walks (not on our street). Advice how to get her to go in the backyard or out front of the house? She held her pee for like 18 hours in the backyard lol I was trialing the “if she has to go she will”

Do you have an old dog that has had a longer than expected life? What are some tips and suggestions? Anything special that you did that you feel helped your dog stay healthy into its older years? Thanks in advance!

Hi all! I have a nearly 8 year old lab whose developing bladder weakness. We also have a dachshund with neurological issues who uses a puppy pad in the house. My lab was housebroken very well before I got her, and she refuses to use the bathroom inside willingly. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how I could train her to use the pad as well? One of us is home most days to take her out, but there's one day a week where we're gone all day, and I don't want her to be stressed out from having accidents. Any advice is appreciated!

Has anyone found pet safe flea/tick yard preventative that works and is safe. So many of these products and companies say they are safe but I don’t trust it.

10 mth old mini schnauzer male, fixed. Unless he’s in his crate, he can’t seem to calm down. Zoomying thru the house. If I play with him he goes crazy and has bitten me a couple times. Walks are nuts with all the zigzagging. Help!

Tenho um Shiba Inu de 5 meses que tem pavor a passear, pegamos ele com 4 meses e desde então passeamos com ele 2 vezes por dia, uma as 6h da manhã e outra as 21h da noite, nesse horário a rua está praticamente vazia. Já tentamos dar petiscos, testamos 3 opções, ele nem sente o cheiro e mesmo colocando no seu focinho para ele cheirar, ele nem se quer dar atenção. Já tentamos puxar ele pela pele do pescoço para imitar a mãe e passar a sensação de segurança, já trocamos de ambiente, estabelecemos o tempo mínimo de 30 minutos por passeio para ele se acostumar mas NADA funciona. Alguém sabe o que podemos fazer?
