My puppy’s become very fearful of noises, particularly on walks. Help!
We have a 16 week old golden retriever puppy and we’ve been doing small walks around the cul de sac we live in, as there’s only fully vaccinated dogs in the street and no one else comes down our end. Initially we learnt he’d do whatever he wanted on these walks, unless we had treats and then he was brilliant. He had the basics of loose-leash walking down pat!
Then about a week ago, we were doing our little routine and two kids on e-scooters came up behind him quite quickly and quite close to him, and understandably he got scared. I waited a short while to see if he’d settled once they’d left but he just couldn’t so we went back inside and relaxed. However, ever since then, every time we go outside for a walk he gets super skittish when there’s scooters, bikes and now even cars! It’s generally when they’re coming from behind him, and he can’t even be distracted by food anymore – which is huge, because he LOVES food. He’ll then pull for the remainder of the walk and can’t focus back on us for longer than a second and appears anxious.
I don’t want him feeling overwhelmed every time we go outside because that’s horrible for him! Has anyone gone through this, is it the fearful stage people mention or are there things I could be doing to help him adjust? I’ve been playing desensitising YouTube videos of car and street noises while we’re at home, we sit in our front yard and I hand feed him while cars go in and out of driveways and I’ll start doing this at our local park too but I am open to any and all suggestions to help!

How can I find an apartment with a big dog?
Hello, I’ve had my dog (great dane/ pix mix) for a bout two years. I adopted him while living in an apartment and didn’t tell management about him. I was living with an ex and he had a dog that we got approved and paid fees for.
I unfortunately had to move back home and I can’t find any places that would take his breed. I don’t even get a chance to plead my case because of the pix mix aspect. He’s a good quiet dog and doesn’t have issues with other dogs or people. I don’t make a ton of money, but I’d pay any fees. I just don’t know what I should be looking for specifically with most of the apartments having breed restrictions.
I’m scared id have to give my dog up, this is my baby. If anyone has advice I would be so grateful, thank you in advance 😭

Non-toxic dog supplies?
I just learned how toxic dog toys and other things I use every day can be for my dog as well as how bad the ingredients are in treats. I'm shocked to learn how unregulated pet stuff is… My dog is my BABY – can anybody recommend non-toxic / healthier options for every day use?

My dog does not eat on his own
My dog is a indian spitz and he's 2 years old, when we got him as a puppy he was too picky he would eat something one day and then not eat it again, so we started to feed him by hand but now i think this habit is not okay also we keep him accessible to food 24/7 so that he doesnt get hungry, is this the reason that he doesnt eat on his own? we also give him too much attention we are like always there for him 24/7 lol do you think thhat might be affecting his behaviour?

How often should i take my 8 week old puppy out to the bathroom at night? I feel like every 2 hours is crazy?
Hello all. I am soon to be the owner of a male English Labrador puppy and i am currently organising a schedule for him.
I have him going to the toilet by default every 2 hours and before and after activities and meals. But at night is my biggest concern because i think both him and myself cannot afford to be woken every 2 hours until the end of time.
How many times should i take him out at night? Every three hours? Just when he starts wriggling?
I sleep with headphones on due to autism so i will not be able to hear him clearly, especially if im asleep.
Any suggestions?
Thank you 🙂

Rescue puppy now pees in the house because she saw me do it
My 1yo Chiweenie rescue is having some problems with re-housebreaking. The other day, I was left alone with her and had to use the bathroom. Because we aren't leaving her unattended and we are still working on re-crate training (she has some kind of trauma from being crated/gated for long periods of time, and SCREAMS), I just decided to pee with the door open so I could watch her. She was fascinated by this, and now every time I use the bathroom, she finds a place in or near the bathroom to pee or poop afterward, even if she just went outside. How do I break this pattern?
