Puppy escaped harness! Recs for a better type?
My 5 month old puppy managed to escape from her harness today. We were on a walk. We stopped to play with another dog. While the two dogs were jumping around, she managed to slip off her harness while the leash was still attached. Thankfully, she recalled well, and I put the leash on her collar for the walk home.
Somehow, this harness managed to loosen while she played, despite it fitting perfectly at the start of the walk.
Any suggestions for a better harness for a small dog? She is ~12 lbs (expected to be 24 lbs).

Advice for outdoor potty training
I adopted an 11 month old rescue puppy a bit over a day and a half ago and she’s been somewhat(?) trained to use puppy pee pads. The problem is she absolutely refuses to go outside and seems to hold it until she’s able to go back into the house, and when she does go in the house after a walk she just sort of does it sporadically. My family has had multiple dogs but none of them have ever used pads and none of us know how we should go about weening her off of them or convincing her that outside is the best place to do her business. I know it’s incredibly early but it’s been stressing me out so badly that i’ve been losing sleep and i’d love to start trying to correct the behaviour as soon as I can

Does my dog know what "hold on" means?
First off, I hope I tagged this correctly 😅
Every time I come home for lunch or get home after work, my dog lays/sits/stands there wagging her tail SO excitedly waiting for me to pet her. I always take some time to get my shoes off, throw away stuff, etc before going to pet her and the whole time I'm saying "Hold on! Hold on!!" as she stares at me waiting 😭
Is this something dogs can learn to associate with as I guess, a different kind of wait command? Except she's waiting for me not food lol.

Can I call the vets for an update on a dog that isn’t mine?
Saw a dog hit by a car today. Car didn't stop – my partner ran home and grabbed the car to drive back.
Owner was in shock, picked her and the dog up and drove them to the vets. She was very thankful but we didn't get her details due to the chaos.
Been lying here thinking about the dog. I need to know if it's okay. Is there any chance the vet would tell me that at least?
Thanks for any advice.
