  • Struggling to get my two dogs to stop fighting

I have a 2 year old golden doodle (Maisie) and a 4 month old yorkie bichon (Murphy) and they never stop fighting. Maisie bites Murphy’s neck and pins him down and Murphy bites Maisie’s ears and mouth very hard. I don’t think it’s play fighting. What should I do to make them less aggressive with each other/teach them a better way to play? They both instigate it and they sometimes seem to be having fun but then it elevates to too aggressive and I’m worried one or both of them is gonna get hurt especially because of their size difference. We separate them if it seems to be getting to aggressive but I would like them to become civil with each other.

  • Puppy Destroyed her crate

The day has come, she chewed her way out of her crate and took some of the surrounding items with it today! Her crate frustration has been getting worse lately, she started out on in the crate and then slowly got really anxious. What do I do from here?? Do I attempt to trust her unattended in the house when I’m gone? Anyone else experience this?

  • Getting a 5 month old puppy tomorrow…anyone want to share your positive stories of adding a second dog??😅

I have been supeerrrr excited to get this puppy! I’ve been thinking my current dog needs a companion for awhile because he loveessss other dogs, but dog parks have proven unsafe, and we haven’t been able to find a good daycare in the city we moved to last year. So anyways, I’m sure it’s going to work out just great, but I’m getting some last minute nerves!!😅😅 I would love to hear success stories, and how happy your original dog was with a sibling! Also, surely the first dog will be way happier with a companion at home when I have to leave him for work right?

  • Experiences putting dog in cargo/hold of flight

My family are relocating from NYC back to London somewhat unexpectedly (visa issues). We have a 5 year old mini aussie shepherd who is pretty anxious at the best of times

We obviously want him to come home with us, but the only options seem to be $2k to fly in cargo on the same flight as us, vs $9k to take a shared private jet back (including cost of one person).

Hoping people can share some positive and negative stories from doing either of these to inform our choice – it's obviously absurd to be considering spending $9k on a flight, but if it's a choice between that and traumatizing him for life we'll probably just suck it up and pay

Or if anyone did anything creative on the NY-London route that they'd recommend, we'd love that!

  • Did I make a mistake of letting puppy sleep in my bed?

So I have a wonderful 15 week old puppy. When I got him I highly underestimated the amount of work it will take to raise him. Still adapting, reading, watching, taking a course…

On his 4th day with me I took him to my bed. By accident first, he was sleeping in the box by my bed and early morning I took him out just to get some more sleep (and it worked).

I wanted puppy to sleep with me, even when he grew. I planned to do it later, when he’s able to use the bed stairs I got. But I went with the flow.

We’re still not through vaccinations, so he goes on pads in the apartment. He had couple of accidents in the bed, one of them after he learnt to use bed stairs. Ok, happens, I moved on.

But last few days it suddenly got worse. I do enforced naps in the crate during the day (usually hour up/two hours crated). When at night we go to the bedroom puppy goes berserk. Jumping, playing, rolling, destroying… last three days it took over 2 hours for him to calm down and go to sleep. And today he managed within 5 minutes to make two pee puddles.

I put him in the crate, he calmed down and fell asleep. Did I set him up to fail by taking him to my bed too soon? Should I crate him for the night, at least while I complete toilet training?

  • Buying a puppy and moving date is prolonged, what do i do???

So we're moving and I've been dreaming of finally having a dog since I was a kid. We're renting currently and close in our house next month. I put a down payment and signed a contract for a puppy and the breeders agreed to keep the puppy a little longer until we were moved into our country home. Our landlord technically doesn't allow pets. I have family that would be more than happy to watch our puppy if needed. Problem is the home sellers need an extra week possibly two to move out so we can sign on schedule but due to them not having help moving until after signing day, they need more time. I don't want the puppy sellers to think I'm flaking on them or unreliable. I don't want to jeopardize losing this puppy at all. So my thoughts is do i just tell her and say we'll take her early like at 8 weeks like her siblings or do I wait for when we thought we'd be moved in and pretend everything went to plan? Please help.
