  • Love being a dog mom – but I need tips on the excessive biting

I know he gets worse when he’s tired. We try to nap in the crate but he won’t sleep for more than 35minutes if even that.

If we leave him in the crate he starts wailing.

I’ve tried to take him out to potty and then back in the crate but he continues wailing.

    But to the biting.

I’ve tried to give him toys in exchange of biting my hand, he just drops them and continues.

I’ve tried to play with him with the toys – he’s not interested and keeps biting.

Ive tried to switch his focus into training, it works when doing it but after he goes back to biting.

He has a crate with a big puppy pen and I’ve tried to just walk out when he bites and come back in when he calms down, but then the biting continues.

He has all kinds of biting toys, bam bones, toys that are cold from the freezer – nothing is interesting when there is a human close by.

He is starting to get strong in his bite and it really hurts but I don’t know how to redirect him.

    He’s 14 weeks old.

  • Looking for suggestions for an easily collapsible puppy pen

    Hi Everyone!

Is there such a thing as a puppy pen that is easy to collapse, yet sturdy enough to contain a Labrador Retriever puppy?

For context, we have limited space for a pen and would therefore need to collapse the pen to tuck it out of the way a few times a day.

    Thanks for your input!

  • Advice on Surgery After-Care

Hi, all! My boy (11M, small breed mutt) is scheduled to get two toes removed from his back leg on Thursday. He has a cancerous growth that, if removed, hasn’t spread and shouldn’t cause further issue (woo!).

What advice do y’all have for the days and weeks following his surgery? The vet offered us a cone so he can get used to it before hand, but are there any other things I should have ready or can prepare ahead of time? How do we handle bathroom trips with his leg wrapped up and a cone? Should I bring him food?

Also, when exactly does he wear the cone? All the time, or can I take it off him while supervised to make sure he doesn’t lick? Does he sleep in it?

This is our first major medical procedure together, so anything and everything is welcome. I have a touch of the ‘tism, so I’d love clear numbers and/or timelines if that’s possible. I’m googling, but still nervous and looking for real world experience. Much love!

  • What toys can we get my get my grandma’s dog?

My grandma got her coton de tulear in August. He turns 7 next month. But we have no idea what to get him. He's scared of squeaky toys, he doesn't care about balls, he barely cares about treats, and he can't chew all that well because he has a lot of teeth missing. My grandma can't always take him on walks and she doesn't have a yard for him to run around in. So are there any recommendations on how to entertain him? Cuz rn he lays in bed most of the day.

My dog bites her nails constantly. I work front desk at a dog grooming salon so she gets a Dremel done often. Anyone know what this could be and how to stop?

  • Aggressive Rescue

I recently rescued this chiweenie from the shelter. He came from a hoarding situation where he lived with a colony of 30+ other dogs and has had little human socialization. I’ve just managed to be able to pet him after a month and a half. He’s come to trust me (slightly) but is still terrified of others. He used to just hide when people were around, but now he’s started barking loudly and getting aggressive (he hasn’t bit anyone yet). I’m trying my best to follow any advice I can find, but it seems like he’s just so riddled with anxiety that everything I try doesn’t work. I live with other people and if they decide I can’t have him because of his aggression, I have to surrender him to the shelter. I don’t want to give up on him yet. What can I do?

  • Older dog was neutered today. He is acting very confused. Where to put him to sleep?

My 8 year old adopted cocker spaniel was neutered today. He's partially blind and he usually sleeps in his doggy bed at the foot of my bed. Usually, I leave a night light on for a bit while he gets settled in and then he sleeps until the morning. Since he has the cone on, is drugged up and is partially blind, I'm nervous of putting him in my room just because there's things he can walk into. He was sleeping for the first couple of hours, and he's still lethargic, but he'll get up and kind of gently walk into things or just stand up and not move. My roommate came home and he randomly got spooked and and anxious. So I'm getting nervous of what to do with him while I sleep. I'm thinking of leaving him in the bathroom because it's a small room and he can't wander around but is it bad to leave him alone like that?

  • Help with husky leash issue!

Hi I was wondering if this has happend to anyone else. My husky pulls really hard so I decided to get him a no pull harness which has worked great. Recently though saw he has a black mark indented and I don’t think it’s painful cause he lets me touch it but is this a common issue? It like removed some hair and made it dark and the color won’t come off.
