  • How do I stop my puppy from digging up my entire garden?

My dog is 16 weeks and he just loves digging. We have put stones in the places where he digs to avoid it, but he will just find a new spot. It also means he will sometimes not go pee because he runs right to the digging.

  • Has anyone here NOT had big issues with their puppy?

I'm picking my guy up this weekend and this subreddit is freaking me out. Every single post is about the OP crying "every day for weeks straight", being trapped inside their house, and their life fundamentally changing for the worse.

Anyone here NOT go through all that?

  • Rescue dog not going potty

I brought home a 6 year old standard poodle today and she’s been lovely. Very chill, very happy just a dream dog

My only concern is despite eating and drinking normally she hasn’t gone potty since bringing her home (around ten hours ago) I took her for one long walk and around 8 potty outings but nothing

This has never happened before with dogs I’ve rescued so I’m quite confused

  • 5 month old yorkie has been wet all day…

Hey everyone, just wondering if somebody knows what’s going on with my yorkie pup.

At least 3 times today I’ve picked him up and his undercarriage has been super wet and his tail is very wet.

I just went to pick him up off the couch and a part of the blanket is very wet. It’s clear, doesn’t smell like urine, and he himself doesn’t smell like pee at all.

This is very unusual, haven’t seen it before. He has been his happy playful little self all day but I’m worrying a bit because you look online and a catalogue of awful things come up.

    Any ideas?

  • Enrichment Toys

    Hi all,

I recently got a Woof Pupsicle for Christmas. My dog, who is an 8 year old Black Mouth Cur mix absolutely loves it.

He seems much more calm at night as well, he is a huge licker of everything but he hasn’t been doing that as much since trying the Pupsicle. He has a sensitive stomach, so I’ve just been mixing his food with water and freezing that.

Is this something that he can have everyday?

  • Is my dog fake limping?

So 2 years ago my dog injured a leg and was babied. After a while he started switching legs he was limping and would run when I wasn’t looking. Realized he was faking it, milking the love. It lasted a 2-3 days of faking it before he quit.

My dog just recently injured a back leg running thru the house. Was babied by me and the kids. He had one day no limping. The next day limping on a different leg (the front now,) and the following day he was limping on both the front and back just hopping around.

It’s winter here with deep snow, he hops mostly but stops and looks at me for a while before using all 4 legs in the deep parts. It’s been about 4 days since he I believe he started faking it. 4 days is a little long IMO to be faking it. No visible injuries and no discomfort when I message the “injured” legs. A little whine when I wobble his front wrist sometimes.

Going to call VET in AM but wondering y’all thoughts

  • Rolling in Poo

My dog Carl has recently started doing a rag doll roll right into a fresh steamy pile of poop he finds. It’s very similar to how a cat acts when it gets a good whiff of catnip.

Sometimes I can catch him and stop him before it happens but sometimes he goes out into the yard for a good poop dive and roll then prances in for a snuggle 🤮🤢.

What causes this and how to stop it?

  • Dog electric blanket smells like electrical burning. Better brand? Alternatives?

My dog is one of those breeds with little hair and thin skin, built for speed, not warmth. My house gets down to 50 at night and she gets cold. I bought her an electric dog blanket but it’s smelled twice now like electrical burning so I’m returning it. What’re some alternatives? Do I just need to buy a better brand? The current one is from Amazon

  • resources for rehoming [WA, USA]

hey all!! currently rehoming my 2yo husky, I'm using Seattle Humane Home-to-Home service – but wondering if there's any other days I can possibly re-home him or if there's resources that are specific for rehoming high energy dogs?

If anyone has advice (especially geared to the Kitsap/Mason area) I'd be super grateful. I don't want to put him in a shelter, I really want to meet the future owners of him and make sure they can care for him properly! Thanks all in advance. 🙂

  • Breeder Advice?

Hello all! I have come to the conclusion that I would like to find a Boston terrier to join my family. This would be the first time I have personally owned a dog as an adult and as I started researching I have become slightly overwhelmed. I have always owned farm dogs, from backyard breeders, and they were always very healthy and lived very full long lives. However through my adult research I have learned that backyard breeders are hugely frowned upon and considered unethical. So I have been doing my research into responsible dog ownership and am trying to find a reputable breeder. I live in North Carolina and many of the breeders I found through BostonTerrierClubOfAmerica are inactive, or no longer exist. I stumbled upon a local breeder that has CKC registered puppies and appears to breed infrequently. Although I’m not sure how the various breeder registrations exactly work. The name of the kennel was sort of a red flag, weaponxkennels, but they have their dogs on lots of land and appear to primarily breed akitas for livestock defense or gaurd dogs from what I could find. I would love any kind of feedback or recommendations.
