Boy dog names
Backstory: My soul dog (omitting his name for privacy purposes), who crossed the rainbow bridge in early 2024, was born 10/10/10. I’ve been experiencing a very long path of grief, but finally I’ve reached a point where the hole in my heart is ready to be enveloped in unconditional dog love.
The stars have aligned. I was contacted on 10/11 about a litter of puppies born on 10/10. One of them was different from all the others, just like my soul dog was in his litter (he was the only black dog). There are sooo many things that feel right.
Anyway, I’ve made a huge list of names and I am looking for feedback and/or suggestions.
The sweet baby dog in question is a red merled little pipsqueak and I am so in love already.
The list:
Odie Wilson (think Dennis the Menace) Dennis Clyde Zero Howl Linus Roger Bernie Havoc Draug (Norse mythology) Oslo Aegir (Norse mythology) Einar (warrior) Ragnar Lavik (Norwegian for bay or inlet) Leroy Brown Azure Grim Sully Dash Bullseye sprite Onslow Winslow Cooney Henry Gage Jiro Gomez Crow Irwin Lenny Hawk Aksel Ole Viktor “Vik” Nikolai “Niko” Oscar Liam Kage Ronan Harvey Jade Del Leo Pluto Ace Beetle Courage Taz (Tasmanian devil) Crash Gromit (Wallace & Gromit) Wallace Balto Fievel Nigel Romeo Lloyd Skog (Forest in Norwegian) Omen Twig Newt Toad Coal Caliber Calcifer Merlin

Puppy does not like playpen/crate
Hello again everyone, as the title says my 4 month old puppy is having a hard time adjusting to pen/crate life. I’ve had her for just over two weeks. I have plenty of different kinds of toys for her, have her food, Kong and treats in her crate. When I’m around, she’ll be somewhat okay with minimal whining. Once I’m in another room, she begins to cry and whine loudly. Also, her pee pads are in the playpen, she hardly uses the pee pads and as soon as I let her step out she goes right on the floor. According to my boyfriend, she stays quiet and doesn’t cry when I’m at work… I want to know what I’m doing wrong or what I can do to help her? ———————- -edit—- I also sleep downstairs by her crate because I’m afraid of her crying at night and waking the neighbors.

Dog peeing in only one room
As the title suggests, I have a problem with my dog. He has learned to not pee inside but he doesn’t go to my room that often and my room is fully carpeted.. and lately every time he goes in there (if it isn’t right after a walk) he either poops or pees there. Should I just not let him in there at all? Or how am I supposed to fix this. Had him for about a year now so that’s why this is a pretty big problem. Every time he has done it I made him leave and made it very clear he shouldn’t do it but he just keeps doing it.

3 1/2 month old dachshund mix biting advice
My partner and I adopted a 3 month old dachshund mix about 3 weeks ago. She is the cutest smartest little thing!! So far she’s been adapting well. She sleeps through the night, eats three meals a day, has been going potty on her pad in and out of her play pen (some accidents, mainly when she’s overly excited), and over all doing great! One thing we’re struggling with is redirect her biting. We of course have done our research (on this and raising a pup in general) and we know this is part of her teething and growing up/exploring. She has lots of chew toys that she loves, but for whatever reason once she notices our hands she wants to chew on them. It’s hasn’t been aggressive, but I’m worried she won’t outgrow it. Anything we’ve tried doesn’t really faze her. If we ignore her for a few second or put her in her own she barks, which is newly developed because it wasn’t much of a thing before. She is so smart and catches onto things quickly aside from this. she also can’t go out around other dogs because she’s not fully vaccinated, so I’m worried this will affect her as well. We both work full time and try our best to take her out her pen on our lunches, in the morning before work, and after and tire her out so she sleeps well and so far it’s great but I don’t want to be slacking as a dog mom! we want the best for her. We are first time puppy owners and appreciate any advice !
