Fully Vaxxed & Finally Walking Outside –> Crate Training Regression
Our 4-month-old female poodle mix (have had her since 6 weeks old) is finally vaccinated and able to go outside for walks. Before she was going outside, she was doing her business on a pad in our apartment and we would take her on carry walks daily to get her some outside time. At that point, she had become really great and consistent about going into her crate for naps and bedtime with usually no protesting at all.
4 days ago, she was finally able to start walking outside. And all of a sudden, she hates being in the crate alone. Crying non-stop and even barking a bit (which is rare for her). She used to be so good at settling herself, but can't seem to do that anymore. She'll cry, bark, lie down for a moment, and try to settle, pop back up, and start crying again.
I know she isn't hungry/thirsty or needs to do any more business. It seems like it's just "I know the world is big and exciting and don't want to be left out." But it's such a departure behaviorally from where we were. So far I've tried letting her cry for 30-40 minutes, pulling her out to settle her for a bit, and then putting her back in. But she just starts crying again. When I take her out and bring her back into the living room she crashes within 5 minutes. But I know she doesn't get that really good, restorative sleep when she isn't in her crate.
Any advice? Anyone dealt with this before?

9 month old puppy may need a crate.
I posted before regarding my 9 month old puppy I adopted. it seems my pup has become a shadow following me everywhere I go. I was thinking maybe a crate would be a good idea because she is not sleeping enough during the day. I feel bad doing this she is so darn cute. I never crated.any of my dogs before so I am still hesitant. I want to keep her gated but the crying is just too much. I appreciate your comments thanks.

Long lasting digestion safe chews?
Any recommendations? I am looking for some more ideas for something to give my puppy as her “night time treat”. Something calming/enjoyable for her to chew on while we unwind. Lick mats/kongs are great, but after 5 minutes she usually finishes them.
