We’ve got an awesome little 4.5 month old puppy. When we adopted him, I was working full time from home… but just started going full time back in office, with no more opportunity to work from home.
We enrolled him in a well-reviewed doggy daycare for the workweek, right by my job. They did a behavior assessment and provide report cards/live cameras. Altogether, they seem like a great daycare- but it’s just so much stimulation for him. He gets the puppy zoomies, of course, but overall he is lower energy than most of the adult dogs at the daycare and often seems overstimulated. I’m also worried about him picking up bad habits or developing issues with reactivity.
Our other option is to get someone from Rover to stop by mid day. The problem with there is that he would have to be crated for 4 hours, Rover break, and then 4 more hours crated. That just seems like so much time in the crate for a puppy, and I’m not even sure he can consistently hold his bladder that long (he is doing so well with potty training!)
I’m just a bit lost. If you check daycare subs, they say doggy daycare is wonderful and has been amazing for their puppies. If you check Rover subs, they say daycares are just fights/behavior issues waiting to happen. If he was a bit older… I would just do the drop ins without question. What do yall think?
