I have 2 dogs. My older dog has a smell, but it’s a typical dog smell. It doesn’t bother me, but when it gets strong (normally after he is stressed or anxious), we give him a bath, and it goes away / is significantly subdued for several weeks.
My younger dog has a musty dirty dog smell all the time. The vet has checked his skin, ears, anal gland, etc. and said he is healthy and that is just his normal smell. They didn’t think it was offensive or over the top, and simply said every dog has a different smell, and I’ll get used to it.
When I bathe him, the smell is subdued for about 2 days. But the poor guy hates bath/showers.
He is one years old and only been with us 2 months. Maybe I will adjust, but I’m worried I won’t. We love the little guy, but good lord, is there doggy deodorant? Has anyone else dealt with this?
