Fulfillment

Hi, I’m really struggling with ways to mentally tire out my poodle mix. Poodles were originally bred for fetching water fowl, so from my knowledge doing fulfillment close to that is going to be best? Doing actual water retrieves isn’t an option as we don’t live near any water. Iv tried flirt poles, throwing a ball out and sending him after it, or throwing it into long grass and letting him find it. But honestly I never seam to get any results. Once we are home he’s still restless, even when I try to enforce naps. Honestly it’s just a bit frustrating watching people take out breeds like working cocker spaniels for 30 minutes of fulfillment and then the dogs chill for the rest of the day. Like where am I going wrong? 😑
