In Canada: cost of care for dog’s diabetes

I just learned my small (20 lb) dog has diabetes and I wonder if anyone who lives in Canada with a similar sized dog with diabetes can tell me what they pay per month for insulin, syringes and special food. She already has other medical issues that are expensive to manage so the additional cost is something I have to figure out how to manage.
