we dont know the exact age of our dog because he's a rescue. When we got him 2 years ago they said he was 6 so now he would be 8. thats just their guess though.
Anyway the last few months he's starting peeing on our bed and couch. we never know when he's doing it so I assume he's doing it while he's just laying there. I started putting diapers on him and he would pee a lot sometimes and almost nothing other times. he also will start peeing when we take the diaper off so he can use the potty outside.
We explained all of this to the vet, he had a uti. that got fixed and it didnt fix his peeing problem same thing with anxiety medication (trazadone). We are currently using a medication that is supposed to strengthen his sphincter muscles. its been the most effective but he still pees randomly. he will go days without an accident then suddenly he has one.
he doesn't pee in his crate unless there's a blanket in there. We have had to leave him with no diaper for the past 2 days because he's starting getting rashes from it. so we isolated him to his bed only and his bed smells of urine already. he pees outside every time we take him out. we dont know what to do anymore besides diaper him for the rest of his life.
any advice would help
