Hello. We adopted our boy from the shelter dec 12, 3 days before 8weeks. We were told he is Chihuahua/hound mix. He is about 6-6.5lbs. he was super sweet when we got him (they said they had him on some calming medication and he was fixed the day or so before we got him) but in the last 2 weeks he does nothing but bite it feels like. We have a good day or two here and there where he bites but not too bad but now he is jumping into the air to lunge/bite my hands if I'm just like sitting there doing nothing sometimes. He has broken the skin a few times although I am not really sure it was purposely. Tonight he got some rotten pumpkin in the yard and I went to get it from him and he snarled, and tried to bite me (I was too fast). This really scared me 😭 is this normal puppy behavior? He is pretty good in his crate and I have been following a 1 up 2 down schedule where we can, sometimes he wakes up early or gets too bored and gets put down for nap a little before an hour. Is that ok? I am so worried I am ruining this little dude… I grew up with Chihuahuas and I have never had these issues, but this is my first puppy as an adult.
I am reading nothing but conflicting information on how to correct the biting and I feel I'm making it worse so I really would love some direction. Thanks for reading my word vomit 😭
