Why get a place bed when a crate can do the same things?

I'm looking at getting a place bed and I realized, doesn't it do the same thing a crate does? Does it have any actual separate benefit? Just wondering. If I have a crate command wouldn't that be the same as a place command? Also saving money from a place bed would save me $40

Edit: she has a crate in the living room and a blanket(her bed) on the floor in my room
