Does my puppy has separation anxiety?

Hello, so I am currently keeping a puppy for 2 or 3 days with the possibility of adopting her. I absolutely love her but I have autism and I am very scared of not being able to handle a puppy. It’s not my first time having a dog, I have a super well trained 10 yo Labrador who is my family’s dog and I feel like she was a much easier puppy.

This puppy is almost 12 weeks old, she’s a chihuahua and Yorkshire mix, and my boyfriend is super excited about keeping her.

I brought her home to see how we react to each other before yesterday.

I put her in the crate next to my bed, she cries a bit, sometimes I put my finger in the crate and she eventually stops crying and falls asleep.

She already peed 2 times on the pee pad which also makes me happy.

The problem is: she follows me EVERYWHERE and wants me to hold her all the time. Whenever I leave the room, even for a short period of time like to go to the toilet or to pick up some water she freaks out: she starts crying, the howling, scratching the floor next to the door while screaming, pees and poops herself… this is scaring me a lot because even though I spend most of the time home, I need to be able to leave her alone for a few hours whenever I need…

The only way I can stop holding her without having her stressed is when she’s in her crate close to me because if I get a few meters away she starts crying.

I’m really concerned because I have 2 friends with dogs who suffer from separation anxiety and I honestly couldn’t live like that, it would be too overwhelming for me…

I don’t know if this is because it’s a new environment or if she is already showing signs of separation anxiety.

Her current owner told me that she spends most of the time away from humans but she usually has her mom always with her…

Please someone help me, because I would love to keep her but I can’t handle a dog with separation anxiety 🙁
