How can I prevent ice chunks from forming in my dog’s legs?
He loves going out in the snow and playing/walking with me. I’ve solved the issue for his paws, trimmed the hair in between the paw pads and I am applying wax before we go out.
However, after running in the snow for a bit he starts getting (a lot of) ice chunks on his legs. He has long frizzy hair on his legs (cocker spaniel mix) so that makes it easy for big ice cubes to form there. How can I prevent that?
It is not bothering him too much (unlike with the paws) but it does end up weighting him down a lot and when we’re back home it’s a long process of getting rid of them.
Would rubbing coconut oil on his legs help? Should I start by trimming his hair? Any other recommendations?
