My wife and I have two Great Pyrenees mix dogs, one is almost 3 and the other just turned 11. The older one is still doing really well for her age just has a little bit of arthritis but otherwise she's doing good. The younger one is very active and could use a sibling that can keep up with her. She also is very attached to the older pup and it's already breaking our hearts thinking about what loosing the older one will do to her. We are wondering when the best time in our situation would be to adopt another puppy. Would it be wise to get one while the older pup is still alive so our younger one has another sibling, or would it be better to wait so our older dog isn't being bothered with everything that comes with a puppy. Basically our older pup is an angel and we want to make sure we don't do anything to make her life harder as she gets older. The more I type this out the more I think we need to wait but I want to hear others opinions and experiences in similar situations.
