Should I replace my Puppie’s Playpen with a Crate?

Been using a play pen for my 12 week old Puppy for a few days. She doesn't mind letting me lift her in there; sleeps like a baby even when the TV is on and I keep it the area enough to where she doesn't pee or poo in it. Just wondering if there are any benefiets of a crate compared to a pen.
