I just got this puppy today from a friend. He’s clearly very scared and overwhelmed. I bought everything I would need from various posts and he still hasn’t acclimated to me or my home after 6-7 hours. Some posts and advice said it would take 20-30 minutes. He has started to eat but still crawls back under my table. He hadn’t pottied so I looked it up and it said to carry him over to the pad and put him down multiple times. I think I shouldn’t have because he started snapping at me after the third try. I didn’t get upset or angry, I know he’s scared. An advice post said to crate him for the first night, but I really don’t want to pick him up again. I laid out his puppy pad and such. I feel like I need to get him comfortable before I do any training. Any tips or advice on what I should do? I left him in my living room with his crate, bedding, toys, an old shirt of mine, food and water.
