Family dog getting aggressive

The family dog (5years old) has been getting increasingly more aggressive. He really likes sitting up against someone while sitting on the sofa, but will randomly turn around, growl, and bite (never hard, hasn’t broken skin) if you move a slightest bit. For example, he was sitting in the recliner part of the sofa against my leg. I shifted my leg the tiniest bit and he started growling and sort of tried to bite my hand. The thing is he won’t actually get up and leave on his own if something was bothering him, and even after biting he’ll sit down against me or whoever else it was. He’s not aggressive about something being “his spot” or anything like that and if you tell him to move he will. It’s just getting more frequent and unpredictable. Sometimes I won’t even move and he’ll just start staring at me and growling while sitting or laying against me.

We’ve taken him to the vet a few months ago and besides some lifelong digestive issues, nothings wrong. He’s active, doesn’t seem to be in any pain, not agressive about something being “his” or anything like that.
