How to get over comparing dogs

At the beginning of this year I adopted a dog who was an absolute sweet heart but he did have some of the typical problems that made me go through a period of "oh god was this a mistake." Eventually I got over that period and had a great time with him for a couple months before I got the news that he had a congenital liver disease that would kill him soon, so I had to make the choice to euthanize him.

After a couple months I decided that I would adopt a new dog and this one I got about a week ago. I am now having the same "was this a mistake?" questions for my issues with her but added on top is a feeling of missing my boy and comparing the incorrect things she does to the fact that my last dog either got over those things or never did them in the first place.

Rationally I can understand that these feelings are what I had with my first dog, so with time and training she'll get better and it won't be an issue anymore. But was wondering if anyone can relate to this experience or has any advice on dealing with the comparisons between a previous dog and new one.
