Our 2 year old boy was started on Zoloft about 6 weeks ago for anxiety and leash reactivity that has been treatment-resistant to training, positive reenforcement, counterconditioning, exercise, brain games, threshold training, trigger avoidance, etc.
This week he started kicking back grass when he pees. He has never done this. Hoping this could be a sign that the meds are working and he is feeling a bit more confident overall? He has never been a super confident dog despite lots of work to improve this.
I’m hoping that the meds will help his brain calm the “fight, flight, freeze and fawn” so he can be receptive to training and confidence-building activities.
