Crate size – tall puppy reaches top of crate, should I get bigger crate that’s way too long?

Hi, I have a puppy that's 31 x 24" (LxH) and a crate that's 36 x 25". So the length is more than enough, but the height is only 1" taller. Should I get the next size up crate 42 x 30" so that he has 6" of spare height, but then 11" of spare length? Puppy is 6 month old so hopefully he doesn't use that spare room to make a new toilet, but I'm also not sure about getting such a large crate yet. Thoughts?
