Our puppy is a 4 month old springer spaniel. He's ok, we're still in the getting to know each other phase. Most days he drives me bonkers, but I know he'll get there. The one thing I can't get over though is that he pees for absolutely every single minor interaction ever. You say hi? He pees. You throw his ball? Pees. Try and pet him? Pees? Give him a treat? Pees. Tell him no? Pees. Look in his direction? Pees. It drives me absolutely up the wall. I feel like I've tried everything, I have tried ignoring it, I have tried a firm "No.", I have tried just popping him in his crate (to give him just some space to calm down), I feel like I've literally tried it all, and I'm spending an absolute fortune on running my washing machine to wash all the things he's peed on. Not to mention the amount I'm spending in cleaning products.
I'm struggling a little to bond with him, and I think if we had this under control I'd likely bond with him better. It's so hard when I can't even interact with my puppy otherwise he's going to urinate absolutely everywhere. I know excited pees are a thing, but it feels like he pees over everything even when nothing exciting is going on 😭
