First time owner reassurance.

Hi all!

First time puppy owner here (well as an adult anyway) and just wanted some reassurance that what I’m experiencing is normal.

We picked up our 8 week old Australian labradoodle pup last weekend. She’s an absolute joy and already becoming my world.

She’s happy in her play pen, and we’re crating her (or trying to). She happily goes in there during the day for some of her naps on her own accord.

Night times, she has a potty break then we settle her until she falls asleep then pop her in the crate and close the door. We don’t sleep in the room with her.

Last week she was going to bed about 11pm and was waking up after about an hour for a potty break, then back in and slept for another 2/3 hours before another break (2/3am ish), before sleeping through to about 6am.

This week, she’s still waking for a potty break after about an hour or so, but seems to then sleep all the way through to about 6am (so about 5/6 hours solid). I like to think this is pretty good for a 9 week old pup, but always think I could be doing better.. thoughts?
