Hey everyone, have been recently browsing here as we've just had a little cavalier join our family a few weeks ago.
He's about to turn 12 weeks old this week and he has been an absolute dream from toilet training, resource guarding and has even quickly picked up some tricks.
He's extremely cuddly and does love to snuggle up as expected, he's been very good with the crate and does not mind going down for naps and going to bed at night.
However, this morning after he woke up at about 5am for a bathroom break, when we put him back down to sleep he absolutely refused to sleep and would not stop whining, in the past few weeks he's normally gone straight back to sleep without an issue, this has been the case for the past 3 weeks.
We eventually caved after about 10-15 minutes of trying to let him realize there isn't any fun to be had as we were worried about the noise as he was louder than we've ever heard him, all he wanted to do was come and cuddle and sleep with us, he promptly settled and went straight to sleep.
I tried sitting next to his crate to have him settle, reassuring him its sleep time and of course ignoring it.
Does anyone have advice on what the best thing to do would be if this continues to happen? Could our little guy potentially stop wanting to sleep in the crate in general if he comes out a 1-2 hours before he normally gets up for the day? Should this only be a concern if this behavior starts to re-occur? (not that i'm arguing he wanted a cuddle)
