Hello! So I have a 7 month old doxie, he's usually such a chill puppy when it's just the two of us but when he's outside he turns into a tiny monster that stops listening to anything.
My worst problem is leash pulling, he does it constantly and it's horrible especially when I am at a crossing and he pulls in every direction and is in everyone's feet.
I've tried: working on heel, when we are outside treats are almost nonexistent for him even though he's a big foodie.
Stopping when he pulls and only advancing when there's a loose leash. He stops with me, waits for me to walk and continues pulling. He has no problem waiting but it doesn't seem to click that I want the loose leash.
I also tried moving backwards when he is pulling but it's the same. He comes with me where I go to but the moment I move forward he pulls again. When he pulls like a maniac and I can't even reason with him and I feel frustrated I just stop the walk.
I'm at my wits end 🙁 Is it something that improves with months of repetition or with age? I've been doing this for the last couple of months and I almost never go forward when he pulls, unless we have somewhere to be and I can't afford to keep stopping or walking him back home.
