I’ve had my dog (small pittie mix)for over a year and she still pees in the house regularly. I’ve done all the recommended training: treats for going outside, no punishment for accidents, consistent routine, all of it. Her bladder fills fast and she empties it 30–60 minutes after drinking. She doesn’t drink often, but when she does it’s a lot, and then she’s peeing every hour. Her urine is somewhat dark and smells awful.
I’ve taken her to the vet multiple times, and my vet keeps insisting it’s behavioral. When I first got her, the vet gave her medication for a “maybe” UTI, and she had zero accidents for two weeks. My vet says that was just coincidence and says her urine looks fine under the microscope.
At this point I’m stuck. I take her on 4 mile potty walks a day, but my schedule doesn’t allow for anymore. That this point, taking my girl potty would require me to stay home to avoid accidents, or I continue mopping up urine and doing wash every other day. Any ideas on what I should do next?
