Best way to socialise a pup to ensure it grows up not aggressive or afraid of other dogs?

I see so many posts with conflicting advice so wondered what people have done that works.

Getting a lab pup in a week and whilst it’s not my first dog, I am very keen to ensure I do everything right first time round as I definitely didn’t with my previous dog!
