My pup is almost 5 months old, he's been with us for 2 months and he hasn't shown any signs of affection towards us yet. When he's on the bed or couch he will always go as far away as possible – not even touching. He doesn't care about getting pets either and seems happier to play with his toys alone. He cries when I leave the room and follows me around the house but I think it's fomo.
I'm really surprised because he's a companion breed that are known for being foot-warmers. My previous puppies have been so cuddly and always want to sit in my lap, snuggle and get pets. I do puppy training classes with him and was hoping to see more bonding with him but its not happening.
Does anyone have experience with a dog like this? Do they ever end up loving you? I feel like I'm doing all the work of raising a puppy without the moments that make it feel worth it.
