I have a 2 year old border collie who will not go into his dog house. He does not stay outside full time. He sleeps inside, and in the winter he spends most of his time inside. In fall and spring he spends a lot of time outside, but crawls under the porch to sleep there, despite the dog house being an option. It is big enough for him, has bedding that smells like him, and his view isn’t blocked to the driveway (he likes to watch for cars). And it’s not that he doesn’t like enclosed spaces, he likes his crate inside just fine. It’s not a huge problem, since he’s inside when it’s cold enough to actually hurt him. The only reason I don’t like him sleeping under the porch is because he gets dirty and there are ticks down there. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what might help.
