We just got a dog in our family. He is a 1.5 year old shih tzu. The dog is completely fine with my son (16) and myself and husband. He was fine with my other son (13) for about two days until he came home from school and accidentally set the alarm off on the door. The dog went bezerk on him which from the dogs point of view I can understand. Well it scared the crap out of my son and now he is afraid. The dog is also now not sure around him. We are trying to get the dog used to him by giving him my son’s blanket, socks and things with his scent. We have tried giving my son treats to give him while we hold Dexter but he will growl and bark. My son doesn’t want to be around the dog and just stays upstairs. My heart is breaking right now. We have tried to tell my son that Dexter senses that he’s now nervous and needs to try calm down a little. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on what we could try? Thank you.
