Okay I know there's like 42trillion posts asking how to train your puppy to sit but I can't find one like what I've got going so here we go:
I have a 19 week old Chihuahua puppy and we just can't figure out SIT. Any attempt at sitting is met with him bouncing around like a little flea and then he ends up standing on his back legs and literally walking around on two legs in an energetic rage. I've tried the treat to nose and pull backwards and he will literally just jump on top of my hand or flip around. I've tried "capturing the sit" too and either he doesn't get it or he doesn't care?
He's genuinely sooo rambunctious no matter what (I took him for a 3.5 mi hike and he still wanted to play lol) that I feel like I can't get him to focus before he goes into bouncy ball mode. But he's been better with recall and potty training for the most part, sitting just seems to be our first hurdle!
Looking for technique recommendations or even YT channels??
